With Ryan’s roots in both jazz and classical percussion, his understanding of global rhythms and African instruments were indispensable in creating the rhythmic palette for the To the Ends of the Earth music score. You will hear him playing 22 different instruments on the To the Ends of the Earth music soundtrack.

As a drummer, percussionist, and teacher based in the Chicago area, Ryan Bennett is an active performer and educator of percussion in many styles of music. His experience includes playing drums for the hit Broadway musical Jersey Boys (Chicago company and second national tour) and performing on two PBS concert specials with the musical group, Under the Streetlamp. He performs regularly at jazz, rock, and festival venues throughout the U.S., including a recent appearance at the 2017 Chicago Jazz Festival. Ryan has also appeared on TV with groups featured on Chicago’s ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, and WGN stations. In addition, he maintains an active schedule as a teacher, clinician, and adjudicator in the Chicago area, and has given clinics and master classes throughout the U.S. and Europe. In his spare time, he writes drum, percussion, and cymbal reviews for Downbeat Magazine.
